I've been cleared to drive!

...does anyone else hear the Halleluia chorus?

I can't tell you how wonderful this is for myself and my family--especially my mom, who's been carting me all over the place. (Thanks Mom!!!) The doc told me to be careful, but I'm allowed to go!

Not much more new information at this point. I have follow up MRIs for the next year to make sure my little friend isn't growing back, and I need to be very careful about what sort of physical activity I do. Anything that increases intercrainial pressure is definitely out, but the doctor thought I might be able to start at least going to the gym. I'm still sleeping about 10-11 hrs a day (although this is down from the last update) so my body must be healing fast. I feel completely normal, to tell you the truth. Well, as normal as can be--I still have short term memory loss. That lovely side effect is more of a nuisance than anything else.

I've had a few people who've gone through similar experiences tell me that their tastes have changed--and oddly enough, some of mine have as well. Suddenly, I love dogs. I've always been a cat person, and while I still like cats, now I really, really want a big dog. Who knew?

Thank you all for the support. It's been a crazy ride, but we're nearing the end!!!

Hey rachel. I don't know if you received my emails from before. But I have been following up on your recovery! Sorry to hear about the plate, don't worry if it was my dad I would never hear the end of it! You will have to let me know about the driving thing!! Well you have been in my prayers and will continue to be.

Rachel,

YAY! I am excited that you love dogs now. Who knew it would only take a brain tumor for that to happen.

I'm glad you can drive again-- I will be sure to stay off the sidewalks :)

Glad things are going much better now... Now you can go to Target on your own and be on the prowl in EP (and where ever 494 takes you)!

Glad things are continueing to get better (is that how you spell that?). Anyway, sorry for the long overdue response, however had a few things on my mind in July and have been having to settle back into life since. No excuses! Love you and so happy to hear that things are continuing to improve for you. You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Love ya!

I heard about your condition from your mom, who has been a classmate of mine in German for several years now- (she wrote a page for class in german with her customary minimal mistakes). Wishing you a complete, speedy recovery, and may you become the next Dawn Upshaw/Renee Fleming-- in the meantime, get enought sleep!
